Silkwood recognised for whole-school wellbeing throughout the pandemic

CONGRATULATIONS to Paulette Scaife, Team & Culture Leader at Silkwood School.

Paulette was honoured with the 2020 International Women in Business Silver Stevie® Award for Education Hero of the Year, recognising her achievements in keeping the Silkwood community informed, safe and educated throughout the pandemic.

The Stevie® Awards for Women in Business honour women executives, entrepreneurs, employees, and the companies they run – worldwide.

Paulette’s dedication to Silkwood School’s Covid-19 Response Plan saw a coordinated approach that emphasised wellbeing for all in the community. Her tremendous effort to support her team to continue the delivery of education through the pandemic and focus on keeping the community connected saw Silkwood provide the tools to be effective in teaching and learning in an unprecedented environment.

With the Australasian Sustainable Wellness Academy as Silkwood Schools’ Wellness Partner, Paulette developed a wholistic team Wellbeing Strategy and Action Plan and ensured the school was able to provide individual online wellbeing programs to all 90 Team Members and many students. Thanks to these efforts, all team members were supported in their professional roles and personal wellbeing. Silkwood families received consistent communication, resources and guidance to make the home learning experience as smooth as possible.

The impact of this dedication flows to all members of the Silkwood community. As a school, Silkwood have a responsibility to work together in partnership to keep those who are most vulnerable safe, and where possible, minimise the effects of the economic impact this will have on all.

“I wanted to support my organisation in being able to roll out a useful and supporting Wellbeing Program for our team. I was also interested in increasing my own wellbeing throughout the Diploma and leading by example with my team. The benefit of a blended online delivery is that you can match it to your own pace and existing commitments, providing flexibility, while also being provided with opportunities to talk through things with your mentor. These positive impacts will also have a flow on effect from our staff, to their own families and also onto our students. I highly recommend the holistic ASWA Wellness Approach and the Diploma of Wellness,” says Paulette.

We congratulate Paulette and the innovative team at Silkwood on this well-deserved recognition for their award-winning commitment to wellbeing for the whole school community.

Silkwood is an independent private, government-accredited school located in a stunning bushland setting in the Gold Coast Hinterland.
