
Mindfulness at work – 1 day workshop
Overcome challenges, support wellbeing, and enhance performance and leadership with mindfulness.
The use of mindfulness in the workplace is growing. With large, forwarding-thinking companies like SAP and Google teaching and encouraging mindful practices amongst their employees. What are these practices, and how can you use this approach to navigate work environments?
Participants will be introduced to mindfulness, the traditional and modern science behind the practice, and how to initiate mindfulness in the workplace. Through practicing several approaches to mindfulness, including breathwork, participants will learn how to begin a practice, use mindfulness to overcome challenges, and enhance performance whilst supporting wellbeing.
Who should participate?
This one-day small group workshop is for adults from all industries and sectors with an interest in applying mindfulness to support leadership, wellbeing, and success.
Core Concepts:
This one-day workshop covers a range of topics, including:
- What is mindfulness?
- Why is mindfulness attracting so much attention in organisations like Google, SAP, Medtronics and Intel?
- The traditional and modern science concepts of mindfulness
- How mindfulness relates to emotional intelligence
- Use of technology to support mindfulness practice
- How to embed mindfulness into daily work practices
- Participants will get the opportunity to practice a number of different approaches to mindfulness
Learning Methods:
A combination of practical activities, self-reflection, and interaction with a qualified Workplace Wellness Leader and accredited Mental Health First Aid Instructor.

Angela Derks is an experienced business owner and qualified Naturopath specialising in whole-person and whole of organisation wellness across sectors and the globe for 20+ years. Angela is the course developer and Lead Facilitator of Australia’s Nationally Recognised Diploma of Wellness Leadership Qualification, exclusively available from the Australasian Sustainable Wellness Academy. Angela is keenly interested in the integration of wellness in work settings and is an active Board Member with various wellness industry and community associations focused on safety, health and wellbeing initiatives.

Through exploring several approaches to wellbeing, including resilience, breath, mindfulness and sleep, participants will learn how to develop a personal wellbeing program and how to apply evidence-based wellness principles to enable them to live and work at their best.

- The Illness-wellness continuum
- Iceberg model of health and disease
- Wellness Energy System
- The 8 principles of wellness and how to integrate them into daily practices
- Why energy management is more important than time management
- Participants will get the opportunity to practice a number of different wellness practices that form part of their personal wellness toolkit
- Participants will walk away with their own personal wellness plan
